Wake Up America

Why Did You Steal My Flag?

May 22nd, 2010

Why is it that for the last 9 years whenever someone questions something our Government is doing we get branded as unpatriotic?

Let me re-phrase that… up until the 2008 election it was if we questioned what our President was doing we were unpatriotic.  Now if we agree with what our President is doing we are Socialists or Nazis.

This started happening about a year after the 9/11 attacks and has been gathering momentum ever since.  It started out with any questions about either war and you were branded with not supporting our troops and tagged as a border line traitor.

This stifled the average American from talking about his or her real feelings and allowed this country to be run by thugs with hidden agendas.

There was and never will be any justifications in this world or the NEXT for the Iraq war.  The leaders in Congress that knew this but allowed one facet of the American public to stifle them from doing their job was no less than criminal.

Now we are allowing the same group of Americans (notice I don’t call them Nazis)  use the same tactics to try and scare the rest of the population into thinking all  the problems our Country has today is because of the leadership of the past 16 months.

Are we really this stupid to fall for this yet again?  Does anyone really thing that the Country went into recession and has high unemployment because of anything that this current Administration did? Does anyone really think it can be fixed in a year?

If that is what you really think, you do need a “Wake Up Call” .  The economy is not like a light switch;  you can’t just turn it off and then turn it back on again at will.

The problems with this economy and our Country have been brewing for many years.  Some of the problems are from things that were started in the Clinton administration and the financial burden of two long unnecessary wars put the finishing touch on our destiny.

The Funny thing is the last government surplus was under a liberal Administration:

WASHINGTON (CNN) — President Clinton announced Wednesday that the federal budget surplus for fiscal year 2000 amounted to at least $230 billion, making it the largest in U.S. history and topping last year’s record surplus of $122.7 billion.

That quote was taken from this CNN archived article

It is also funny to see that those surpluses were wiped out in one year by a conservative administration.  Bush did this in part by going back to the Reagan trickle down economic way of thinking… give the rich a tax break and they will create jobs and the money will trickle down to us common people.

Problem is it didn’t work for Reagan and it couldn’t possible work for Bush because the world changed.  The rich were no longer employing American workers;  they were taking their tax breaks and employing cheap labor off shore.

Like I said before, this is great if you’re an American consumer, because we all get to buy cheap stuff… it kind of sucks for the American worker because none of it’s being made by us so we are not getting paid for the stuff we are consuming.

BTW it’s great for the American companies bottom line… they make more money this way, it just NEVER trickles down to Americans.

Getting back to my flag…

Just because I don’t agree that starting wars and force feeding Democracy down the throats of countries that history has proven has never and will never survive under our form of Democracy… just because I feel that way doe NOT make me un-American!

Just because I think that a Country that has found a way to finance  1 Trillion Dollars to fight two wars and have budgeted in 2011 another 164 million for those same two wars… just because I think that Country should be able to find a way to finance Health Care for EVERY American… That does not make me un-American!

Just because that with my limited High School education I understand that in a recession the Government is the only one that can spend money and that they must spend money to pull the country out of a recession… that does not make me un-American! (don’t be fooled all those people in Washington with and “R” after their name, knows this is true)

Just because I believe that this Country has it all wrong with how we are dealing with Terrorism and I think we should pull out of both wars as fast as possible, and start fighting a covert war on terrorism… that does no make me un-American.

Just because I don’t complain about Government being too big and than Bitch when they are to slow to react to a National crisis… that does not make me un-American!

So let me close by saying…  I might not agree with your vision for this Country or your political beliefs, but I still honor you as an American.

So all I ask is that you show me the same courtesy and put down those signs and give me back my FLAG!

As always comments are welcome… either way
