Wake Up America

Palin Manipulate America And Dance The Whole Way To The Bank

November 17th, 2010

Only in America can a quitter and a looser come back to make millions of dollars in speaking fees and $250,000 per episode for her own reality show.

After losing her bid for VP in 2008 she quit her job as Alaska’s Governor, to go out and earn a fortune through television and book promotions plus an intense routine of speaking appearances worth five and six figures.

Palin took advantage of the Tea Part movement leading up to the midterm elections, to position her solidly in a leadership role and capture the free press that came along with the role.

Palin’s ability to tap into the frustrations of the American people and tell them what they want to hear, and her willingness to grab headlines with less than factual speeches, while charging for her made up fantasies says something for her character.

Now Sarah and her daughter Bristol could make history by making one networks payday by drawling 5 million views to her new reality show “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” and killing Dancing with the stars after 11 seasons.

Bristol who clearly has lasted longer than other celebrities that could literally dance her under the table, can thank her mom’s Tea Party voters, despite the judges scores.

If Bristol goes on to win Dancing with the Stars, ABC will need to make changes to how they select the winners, or at least acknowledge that the most talented has nothing to do with who wins.

The American people are so tiered of slick polished politicians that they have fallen in love with Palin and her down to earth folksy speaking style… they are so in love with it they have paid her well over 15 million dollars just to hear her speak.

Is America trading one style of deception for another? Are they willing to kick out all the professional politicians and replace them with anyone that will stand up in front of a crowd and tell them what they want to hear no matter what the facts are?

Has America really come to the time history when if you just repeat a lie over and over again, that it somehow becomes truth?

Are Americans really ready to hand over the running of this country to the likes of people that have a need to make a political advertisement saying she is not a witch?

Is America really ready for Sarah Palin in 2012?

Question For Tea Part Members

September 21st, 2010

1.       Do you really believe that we should privatize SSN and Medicare?  I ask this because 50% of you are over 50 and I find it hard to believe you would support the Tea Part on this issue.

2.       Do you really believe that Taxes should be lower, even though the rates have not been this low since 1941?

3.       Do you really believe that Unemployment compensation is a Government hand that should be eliminated?

4.       Do you really agree that we should open up and have unrestricted exploration for oil, even after the Gulf oil spill disaster proved the oil companies had no real plan on how to deal with this environmental disaster?

5.       Do you really believe that Big business with no government regulation would have this Countries best interest in mind when doing business?  Please remember that it was the lack of regulation that caused the banking crisis that has this country in its current depression.

6.       Do you really believe that if you repeal the new student loan program and give those loans back to for-profit organizations that this would help more students get an education?  Remember those profits are paid out of the money budgeted by the Government for student loans.

7.        Do you really see Sarah Palin as your leader?…  Really? Can a quitter be a good Presidential candidate?  She has definitely proven she believes in her constitutional rights to pursuit happiness or in her case step away from her obligations as Governor of a State to pursue speaking fees and happiness for herself.

8.       Do you really think that everything wrong in this Country is because of the governing of the last 21 months?

9.       Do you really think that the financial crisis and economic problems inherited by this administration in 2008, could be fixed in 21 months?

Please any Tea Party members, these are simple straight forward questions, could you please answer them for me.

Who Is The Tea Party – What Do They Want – Do They Even Know?

September 20th, 2010

I have been promising to post something about the Tea Party movement for some time now, but have found it to be a difficult subject to find much substance to comment about.  I have set out to do a post many times over the last 30 days, but while doing research (over six hours so far) all I find is what they are against and not much information on how they plan to make these changes they claim our country needs.

I have decided that now that some of their candidates are winning primary elections I do need to make a post… I have also decided that it would be best if I make this a series of posts, first starting with who they are and what they stand for, and then I’ll do research and make individual posts on some of these candidates.

I guess one of the best places to start, would be to post their “Mission Statement” which I found on this site http://www.teapartypatriots.org/Mission.aspx

See My below Comments in Red

Tea Party Patriots Mission Statement and Core Values

Mission Statement

The impetus for the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation. Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.

According to this site “U.S. Federal Individual Income Tax Rates History, 1913-2010” the federal tax rates that Bush put into play on 2002 are the lowest rates seen by our country clear back to 1941…  go to the site and see for yourself.

So in light of this fact the “impetus” for the movement has been cut in half right out of the gate.

Core Values

  • Fiscal Responsibility
  • Constitutionally Limited Government
  • Free Markets

Fiscal Responsibility: Fiscal Responsibility by government honors and respects the freedom of the individual to spend the money that is the fruit of their own labor. A constitutionally limited government, designed to protect the blessings of liberty, must be fiscally responsible or it must subject its citizenry to high levels of taxation that unjustly restrict the liberty our Constitution was designed to protect. Such runaway deficit spending as we now see in Washington D.C. compels us to take action as the increasing national debt is a grave threat to our national sovereignty and the personal and economic liberty of future generations.

The National debt only becomes a grave threat if it can’t be sold, and today China will purchase through the bond market all the debt we want to sell.

If the National debt is one of their primary concerns, they are about 8 years late… it was very predictable that if you cut revenue with tax cuts and start two wars that you have to fund, that the country had to go in debt to pay for them.

Constitutionally Limited Government: We, the members of The Tea Party Patriots, are inspired by our founding documents and regard the Constitution of the United States to be the supreme law of the land. We believe that it is possible to know the original intent of the government our founders set forth, and stand in support of that intent. Like the founders, we support states’ rights for those powers not expressly stated in the Constitution. As the government is of the people, by the people and for the people, in all other matters we support the personal liberty of the individual, within the rule of law.

All I want to point out here is what they say “We, the members of The Tea Party Patriots, are inspired by our founding documents and regard the Constitution of the United States to be the supreme law of the land.”

I’ll explain why that is so funny later.

Free Markets: A free market is the economic consequence of personal liberty. The founders believed that personal and economic freedom were indivisible, as do we. Our current government’s interference distorts the free market and inhibits the pursuit of individual and economic liberty. Therefore, we support a return to the free market principles on which this nation was founded and oppose government intervention into the operations of private business.

There has never been a totally free market anyplace in the world… If we had a true free market as they are describing with no government involvement in the operations of private business, then I agree US businesses would be booming and our unemployment would probably be closer to 0% than 10% where it is now.

Problem is you would be making $5.00/ hr or less and working conditions without Federally mandated safety regulations would vary from Unsafe to Good, depending on the company… it would be totally up to them what they wanted to pay, and how you were treated.

BUT… we would be able to compete with the rest of the world… are you willing to give up your high wages and workers rights as the Tea Party would ask you to do?

Our Philosophy

Tea Party Patriots, Inc. as an organization believes in the Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government, and Free Markets. Tea Party Patriots, Inc. is a non-partisan grassroots organization of individuals united by our core values derived from the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States of America, the Bill Of Rights as explained in the Federalist Papers. We recognize and support the strength of grassroots organization powered by activism and civic responsibility at a local level. We hold that the United States is a republic conceived by its architects as a nation whose people were granted “unalienable rights” by our Creator. Chiefly among these are the rights to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” The Tea Party Patriots stand with our founders, as heirs to the republic, to claim our rights and duties which preserve their legacy and our own. We hold, as did the founders, that there exists an inherent benefit to our country when private property and prosperity are secured by natural law and the rights of the individual.

Now let’s take a look at what the Tea Part is calling their “Contract From Americains”

You can find it on this site: http://dailycaller.com/2010/02/15/tea-party-leaders-ask-voters-to-help-draft-contract-from-america/

See my comments below in red

Contract From Americans

  • Amending the constitution to require a balanced budget and a two-thirds majority for any tax hike.

HOLD THE HORSES!!! STOP THE PRESSES!  What the hell happened to say “We, the members of The Tea Party Patriots, are inspired by our founding documents and regard the Constitution of the United States to be the supreme law of the land.”

The first thing they want to do is amend the supreme law of the land… WTF

  • Permanently repealing all tax hikes scheduled to begin in 2011.

Kind of goes against facial responsibility to turn away revenue when your broke, but whatever.

  • Requiring every bill in Congress to be made public seven days before any vote can be taken and all government expenditures authorized by any bill to be easily accessible on the Internet before the money is spent.

Sounds good to me…   The average Tea Bagger or anyone else for that matter will not know what their reading, but someone might.

  • Requiring each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does.

Interesting concept might be a good thing and save a lot of court costs challenging laws in the Supreme courts. Don’t know what would happen to all those gray area though.

  • Permitting all health insurance plans to be sold anywhere in the United States through the purchase of insurance across state lines. Allow small businesses and associations to pool together across state lines to buy insurance.

This would probably really work good when combined with their free market demands which would then stop the Government from stopping the three or four major insurance companies from buying up all the smaller companies across the country, and then hold us hostage to their prices.

BTW if Government needs to get out of the way, there will be no more need for them to request rate hikes before they implement them… that regulatory agency will be gone.

  • Adopting a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and “replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words — the length of the original Constitution.”

Can’t say I’m totally against this, although I have no idea what the length of the Constitution has to do with it.  Do they understand that by scraping the current tax codes and replacing as they are suggestion will mean an even bigger tax hike on the rich than Obama is trying to implement now?

You can’t simplify the tax code without doing away with the special loop holes and right offs for the rich.

  • Imposing a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth.

So let me get this right… it doesn’t matter if we are fighting two wars, or the infrastructure of the Nation is in shambles, we are only to look at inflation and population growth to determine spending needs… if it was only that simple!

  • Allowing Americans to opt out of Social Security and Medicare and instead put those same payroll taxes in a personal account “they own, control and can leave to whomever they choose.”

Great idea, just look at the fabulous 401k results in 2007 – 2008 ½ how would you to try and plan a retirement on this unknown?

Don’t worry though, because there will be no Government involvement into your personal rights, when you mess up and blow these funds, you will have the right to work until you die.

  • Preventing any regulation or tax on the Internet.

Bring on the kiddies porn, child molesters and scam artists.

While I’ll agree the Government has gone further than I like on regulating some things on the Internet, can you see how stupid it is to ask for NO regulation?

  • Improving education by eliminating ineffective and wasteful programs, giving parents more choices from pre-school to high school and improving the affordability of higher education.

Sounds good… means nothing but sounds good.

  • Authorizing the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation, lowering prices and creating competition.

DRILL BABY DRILL… ENOUGH SAID!

  • Prohibiting the Federal Communications Commission from using funds to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine.
  • Creating a Blue Ribbon task force that engages in a complete audit of federal agencies and programs.

I thought we already had this… I could be wrong. Or is this one of the agencies that would first be eliminated whiles the Tea Party down sizes Government, only to re-start under another name.

  • Blocking state and local governments that receive federal grants from exercising eminent domain over private property for the primary purpose of economic development or enhancement of tax revenues.

I suspect eminent domain has been used both for the good of the people and against the people, depending on the circumstances.

This is another one of those gray areas, nothing is as black and white as to pass a law blocking it’s use.

  • Preventing the EPA from implementing costly new regulations.

Drill baby drill.. Pollute baby pollute, because Sahara Palin says global warming is not manmade!

Also get use to your gas mileage never improving… EVER AGAIN!

  • Placing a moratorium on all earmarks until the process is fully transparent. Also requiring a two-thirds majority to pass any earmark.

I have no real problem with this.

  • Making all lawmaking regulators, including presidential appointed czars, be affirmatively approved by Congress and signed into law by the president.
  • Audit the Federal Reserve System.
  • Making sure the federal government does not bail out private companies. The government should also immediately divest itself of its stake in the private companies it owns from recent bailouts.

You think the National unemployment rate is high now, if the Government would not have bailed out the Auto industry it would be at least another 5% higher.

Also the government will make money on the stakes they took in these bail outs, the companies are now profitable.

  • Amending the constitution to require congressional term limits. No person shall be elected to the Senate more than twice or to the House of Representatives more than four times.

Another change to the constitution being proposed by the keepers of the law of the land!

  • Making all regulations “sunset” after 10 years unless renewed by congressional vote.

We can’t even get Congress to pass laws the first time… you know how much this would muck up the system, they would never get anything new done.

  • Broadcasting all non-security meetings and votes on C-SPAN and the Internet.

This sounds good to me.

So there you have it, my first post on the Tea Party… look for more to come soon.

Comments welcome as always.

Drill Baby Drill – Spill Baby Spill

June 14th, 2010

First off don’t take what I’m about to say as me be cold hearted… to the contrary my heart does go out to the fisherman and the oil workers of the Gulf coast States. I do understand when the politicians come out against any drilling moratorium, because their economy depends on the oil rigs in the Gulf.

But you can’t have your cake and eat it too in this case.  You can’t complain about the fact that BP and the Government can not stop this leak, and complain about Obama’s decision to halt deep water drilling until this disaster is studied and hopefully safety standards put in place AND enforced that would hopefully keep this from happening again.

What no one is talking about is the fact that there is no end in site that is guaranteed to stop this leak.  The two relief wells being drilled will either work or they will compound the problem.

Has anyone even thought about what a world changing disaster this will become, if this leak continues to spew its toxic wastes into the Gulf for years?
How is it possible that we allow deep water drilling if we do not have the technology to plug a well if things go wrong? Have we as citizens of this world finally become so arrogant that we thought this would never happen?

The truth was it wasn’t if, it was when would it happen, and to find out that these oil companies that have been lying to us and telling us how safe this was, have no proven way to shut this well down is criminal.

Almost as criminal as the politicians of the Gulf States that are bitching about the moratorium unjustly costing them jobs.
I have an Idea; let’s just let this toxic waste continue to spew into the ocean… Hell we don’t even need any new oil rigs just punch wholes in the ocean and we’ll just skim the oil off the water.

Put your fishermen to work on skimmers and keep the oil industry fat and happy, after all this is all about the money, not the fact that we are destroying the world.
Once again I must ask… when are we going to have a “Wake Up Call America” that people will really listen too?

Palin Offers Obama Help On Face Book

June 9th, 2010

Palin wrote on her facebook wall that she wanted Obama to give her a call so she can help him with the Gulf Oil crisis.

She then extolled her own experience in Alaska, and what she called her administration’s efforts to ensure “Big Oil” operated ethically and responsibly. Among those: creation of a Petroleum Systems Integrity Office “when we saw proof of improper maintenance of oil infrastructure in our state. We had to verify. And that’s why we instituted new oversight and held BP and other oil companies financially accountable for poor maintenance practices.

“We knew we could partner with them to develop resources without pussyfooting around with them. As a CEO, it was my job to look out for the interests of Alaskans with the same intensity and action as the oil company CEOs looked out for the interests of their shareholders,” she wrote

As usual Palin seems to see things differently than reality and paints the picture she wants people to believe regardless of any real facts.

Pamela Miller, arctic program director for the Northern Alaska Environmental Center, said she has yet to see “any tangible results in the oil fields” as a result of the office’s work. She called Palin’s claims on it “hollow.”

“And she walked. So how is she holding that entity accountable?” Miller said. “What kind of executive experience is that?”

Palin served 18 months of her first term as Governor, and part of that she was ruining to be VP of the country.  Soon after she lost that race she resigned the office of Governor in the middle of her first term.

Soon after quitting that job that paid a measly $125,000 per year, she started her new career and has pulled in more than $12 million dollars to date.

She is a great example to the kids of this nation that you can walk away from your responsibilities, be a quitter, and still get rich in the USA.

Maybe that’s the advise she wants to give Obama… Hey Barrack, Sarah here, I can see it’s getting pretty tough out there for you, why not resign and go on tour with me?

Sad part of this is that there is a segment of the American people that are paying to see this women and who I’m afraid thinks that this quitter is even worth following.

Wake up America, we need leaders that stick with the Job no matter how tough it gets. We need leaders that don’t scream and carry on, or cry and take their ball and run home…  We need a strong leader that takes the time to look at the facts and makes decisions based on the facts has he knows them.

We need a leader that if the facts change or are proven wrong, will not be pig headed and take us to war anyway, but will re-evaluate and adjust the plan.

Does that sound anything like Sarah Palin?  I think NOT!

My next post I’m going to ask the question “Are We Fighting The Right War”

This will not be about what you think it is… exactly.
